The pre WW2 Berlin telephone directory had a large number of them: the postwar directory, I understand, had none. Understandable, I guess.
But seriously - the yellow line guardians of our urban streets now get, since they deserve it, that name, don't they. Usually prefixed "little". It seems to have stuck on them. Maybe they deserve it for choosing such a career move.

Yeah once
i was kicking stones along the street outside of school
as you do when youre bored and waiting for your mum
accidentally clipped a car as it went past the road
( this isnt anti social behaviour btw)
old(ish) woman got out of the car and called me a little hitler and pointed her walking stick threateningly (for an old woman) at me
i was only 6! I thought a Nazi was a type of insect

Hitlers last 3 known relatives emigrated to america and they said that they wouldnt ever have children because they don't want to carry the name on. this was printed in the paper a few years ago. whether they are still alive now remains to be found out

Yeah, a fictional character from the brit-com Bottom. He was called Eddie Hitler, and whenever anyone said "Oh, any relation?" (meaning to Hitler) he would say "Um, yes, I have a mother..."
Classic.

My pit bull terrier's name was Hitler. A lot of pit bull owners seem to name their dogs Hitler. I don't know why because no one really respects the dude, I know I don't. Guess you just choose the meanest sounding name and it's just the nastiest one to come to mind

as far as i know it used to be a regular last name. not as widespread as "meyer" for example, but you'd see it here and there. of course though sharing the name of the fuhrer was unacceptable, there was only one fuhrer. after WW2 nobody wanted to be connected with that monster. you'll also have a hard time finding the names "himmler" or "goebbels" in germany today.

The Bush's probably changed their name from Hitler. Most German exiles migrated to Texas after WWII, and even before that Germans settled therle.
Hence the policies, speech and actions of the Bush Regime are innate.
