Defintely not...As the product og an interracial marriage, I can tell you that I would have missed out on many things if I had been raised ignoring any part of my heritage.
I believe children should be raised as both or all...not one, or none.
Many times people think they should raise the child whatever race the world will perceive the child as (ie a dark skinned mixed child might be raised as black). But this is just illogical...People tell me I look Hispanic but I'm not going to act like I am for their benefit.

They may get to a point where they feel that they have to pick a race to identify themselves as. The things that occur to me are ones that I've seen friends go through - deciding whether to apply for a scholarship as a minority, deciding whether to apply to a historically African-American college, deciding whether to pledge a black sorority/fraternity... Those decisions are realities.

That said, I think that its a good idea to talk about these things as decisions that they may make someday but I think its a bad idea to raise biracial kids with one racial identity or the other. I'd say the same thing if their parents were of two different religious faiths or who came from different cultures. I think that kids need to grow up "bilingual" in order to be equipped to make any decisions that they may need to make down the road.

I really wish that those lines weren't still there, and I think the fact that there are biracial kids is a great step toward the day when nobody will have to worry about this. In the meantime, these kids need to be equipped for the real world.

Never. I think biracial children should know their heritage from both sides of the fence.

Biracial children should be raised, hopefully by a loving parent or parents to understand that they are individuals. The child should know his or her whole background, where they go from there is up to them.

Are you living on "one side of the fence"? Isn't that what's wrong with the world today? Don't teach your kids that they are different. Everyone should be equal. If you don't push "color" then your children won't realize there is a difference.

I don't think so. Since their parents I really feel that it would be good for the children to learn from each parent. then when the children are adults then they can make the choice for which way they want their life to go. I feel they will be more stabile in their life to try to see both sides of the coin or life. But there are stupid people in ever society that will want the children to be outcast. SHAME ON THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO

They should be given, as ALL children should, all sides to any situation, all possibilities and viewpoints. When they grow up, they will have more information with which to make life choices.

I'm trying not to laugh at you, no offense.

Children are acculturated, 1st by the people who raise them, and 2nd by their environment. The reason groups of people have similar behaviour is because values and communication styles are learned by association. Unless you plan to segregate a child from one half of his family, he will always be bi-cultural. (Again, I am trying not to laugh at the absurdity of your suggestion).
