I'm assuming that by "pilgrims" you mean the small group of English settlers who landed in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1620. The answer is, that mostly they were on pretty good terms with the Indians for quite a few years, but there were many other groups of English settlers who came to New England in the following years, and eventually in 1675 there was an out and out war between the settlers and indians and thousands were killed on each side. This is called King Phillip's War and you can easily get lots of info about it online.
