why is my pc asking me to connect a burner now after burning music on it for 2 years?

it could be because your burner broke? or maybe it got unplugged? Is it an internal burner or an external one? If external, make sure that it is powered and that the connection cable is secure.

The best way to test is to simply put a regular music CD on the burner and see if you can play it using Windows Media Player. Or just put in a software CD and see if you can access the files in it.

This will tell you if your burner is still working.

it could be the connection between the drive and the motherboard or maybe something is damage or the drivers are gone but it would mostly be the connection

that happened to my friend he used his alot..and after 3 years....it past away ..lol

maybe its time to take old yeller out in the backyard
