My printer quit working after I changed the ink in it. What's wrong? It's an HP deskjet 5150. What do I do? The light on the left that looks like a tear drop is blinking. What to do?

Please check if you are using 56 for black 57 for color and 58 for photo cartridge.

clean the carriage contacts in printer :

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00058182

and use this webpage to resolve the blinking lights on printer :

If this doesnt resolve the issue.

Contact the HP support with :

Printer serial number and 8 digit "End of Warranty" number located above copper strip on cartridge. The "end of warranty" date in a YYYY/MM/DD format appears on the print cartridge and the lot number located below the warranty expiration date ( Example : "L01 1 14:53:31" ) .

They will replace the cartridge :

you have a defective or incorrect cartridge installed..

I would recommend taking it back to the store and getting a replacement or the correct cartridges. Your printer takes a number 56 black and a 57 colour.
