Porn appeals to men because they are very visual. Women are not so visual. Men also seem to be able to completely separate the physical act of sex from any kind of emotion. Most women arent able to do this. They do make porn for women that has more of a story line, and more developed relationships in the story. I dont know - I suppose that there are women who DO like porn, but I tend to think they are the exception to the rule. Who knows WHY men and women like different things - its probably a combination of different brains and different upbringings, socializations, expectations, etc . . .

Well I am not a feminist, but I enjoy porn. Of course if its all just straight sex, I get bored of it. I do need a little bit of a story.... I enjoy porn that doesn't always reveal everything, leaves a little bit to the imagination. So I guess in this way I don't need visual to get me turned on. And are women less shallow then men, on a whole no I don't think thats necessarily true. Its just our 'make-up' is a bit different and different things turn us on.

yes, in fact, you are a little wrong and somewhat prudish as well.
Men and women have the equal capacity to be excited by sex, both have a healthy appetite for sex and can be stimulated by physical sensations.
Your problem is that you watch too much American TV and/or indulge in simple stereotypes without thinking critically about something.
Women can enjoy porn as much as men mainly because they stimulate themselves way better than most men could.
and not all feminists say that women enjoy porn you idiot. Read Virgina Woolf, will you!

You're asking several questions in one there. My ex liked porn. I didn't have a problem with that but all the girls looked like they were from the 1970's!!!! Did he just have bad porn? Not sure.
I don't believe women get more emotionally attached when it comes to sex. I can honestly say i've never had a change in feelings after sex. If I liked the guy before, then I still like him. If I didn't really like him before, then sex isn't going to make me fall in love with him.

I hate to have to say this but as a man we are controlled by what is hanging between are legs and we think with the wrong head most of the time. there are some women that do really like it but they get bored of it when men could set there and look at it in every different way that he can.

Some women like porn, but not to the extent that men do.
They prefer something that is less graphic and more consentual, which is why the film done by women for women do so much better with them

I am very visual, but i dont really like porn. i would rather participate than watch. I will watch it though if the guy that i am with wants to though. Do you guys watch it for ideas or what? i never have really understood why you love it so. I would think that a real live woman much better than one on TV even if its a big screen.

I'm bisexual and i love porn. But there's some porn that turns me off more than anything else.
"Lesbian" porn is awful!!! They're rarely real lesbians and if you've ever been in a girl-girl relationship this is painfully obvious. It's just totally fake in my opinion. I hate my boyfriend watching lesbian porn because it seems like he's watching it cos he's attracted to the girls and not because he can imagine himself doing what he's seeing. No girl wants to know if her boyfriend finds other girls attractive.
What really does it for me is watching people getting themselves off and reading about it too.
My flatmate is completely different, she HATES porn! She is adamant that her boyfriend doesn't watch any porn or w*nk but they are away from each other a lot and it seems unrealistic.

Feminists say women should have the same rights as men, not that women are the same as men.
Women are less visually stimulated than men. They are more verbally stimulated. That's why porn appeals more to men, and romance novels more to women. (sorry about the gross generalization)
I'm a guy, but I also consider myself a feminist. I have for a long time. I also enjoy porn.

Yeah, we love porn. We love to be compared to women who have been airbrushed, have never eaten, never had kids, don't do laundry or clean the house. We especially like it when they are size 0 and hit it with everyone. We like it when our boyfriends and husbands look at this, because it is SO real. Just like real life. FYI, the feminist movement and feminists in general are the single biggest problem for women today.
