200 years ago some people quoted bits of the Bible out of context, devoid of the origional meaning, to justify slavery and racism. Today some people do the same mean trick to try to justify their bigotry.
An example - some say that Leviticus calls being Gay an abomination, they quote one sentence. If peope would read 3 chapters on either side of that one sentence they would see that eating pork and wearing clothing made of 2 or more materials are also called abominations. If they would read further, they would see that stoning children and killing animals on the alter is called for. If they would read the whole book, they would find why it is called Leviticus - God wanted ther Levites among the Isrealites to be quite different from all other people, the laws in Leviticus are intended only for those born into Levite families. Leviticus means "for the Levites". For any non-Levite to follow those laws is the opposite of what the Bible really says to do!
Another example - the word "homosexuality" is only about 100 years old. If you have an edition that uses that word in the writings of Paul, it is a deliberate incorrect translation, get another version.
Best to read just the gospels anyway - what did Jesus say?
Love your neighbor
Don't judge others
In making you Gay, God gave you the gift of Love. What God has made, let no man put asunder!

I fancy myself to be a christian and by that I mean that I believe in God and his son and I try every day to leave the world a little better for my having been in it. I respect and am considerate of others, I try very hard not to lie, cheat or steal or otherwise break the "big 10." I do seem to have a problem with organized religion but that's my problem not yours.
I told you all of that so I could tell you this: that whole bible thing? I'm not necessarily buying into it all? God didn't write it, MEN did. And too many of them have demonstrated too many times that they have an agenda. Like other posters here, I believe that the words have been changed, deleted and skewed far too many times for me to believe that gay love is cause for damnation.
You've found something that works for you - not because you want to "stay gay" but because you want to grow spiritually and that is a good thing. Relax and enjoy the fellowship that you've found.
Peace to you.

I think it is important for you to have a place you can worship where you feel comfortable. However, you must be cautious because many people, as you acknowledge, change religious doctrines to conform to their lifestyle. This doesn't just happen with homosexuality. I am definitely not the person to say the church you attend is wrong, because faith and spirituality is a personal decision one should make after becoming educated, contemplating the knowledge they obtain, and then praying for confirmation from God.
Although I stated before that it is important to have a comfortable place to worship, truth is even more important. On a personal note, I attend a church I know to be true, but I am not alway in my comfort zone when I am there.

Yes, I agree, we all will be judged. I don't know if you will go to hell because you are gay. Not my place to judge. It is my understanding that loving someone of the same sex is not a sin. Having Sex with the same sex is the sin. It's a temptation, you're not supposed to act on it. This is a sin, as are many others. I sin everyday. But I try to better myself, try to do the right thing. I wish you Peace in your search for understanding.
Edit 1: God knows what you believe, and what's in your heart. I hope you do believe.

Sorry if I sound rude, yet no in case you've been "born" gay then you truthfully does not have not some thing to fret about, although in spite of everything those years no scientist, or known practitioner will say there's a "gay gene" out their. i do not care about thumbs downs, i'm not likely to compromise on the gospel, being gay is incorrect clone of the different sin. no matter if you're a liar, blasphemer, gay, assassin, a thief, it is all a similar to God. remember in James the bible says when you're to blame of one sin you're to blame of all of them. We as society fee someone as gay a fabulous sin, yet to God all is sin. A liar or a gay guy and lady would could answer to God sometime. o.k. commentators thumbs down me now. you realize you want to. take heed to nameless and make your self experience better, i'm right here to warn. human beings can hate me i do not care, they hated Jesus, i do not hate gays or lesbians, and your proper God does love them as he does absolutely everyone, although the question do the gay individual love God. The bible says you'll educate your love for God through following his commandments, that very last area back following his commandments. God is love, yet he's likewise holy and only. Heaven is complete of redeemed former sinners not modern-day sinners. @SuicidalKiss---- Jesus would not settle for absolutely everyone the way they are, an vast majority of human beings will bypass to hell. He would not encourage human beings to proceed to sin and say "thats ok you may keep mendacity and stealing, in spite of everything I settle for you techniques you're" He accepts you, yet not the sinful life we are living or (if you're a real christian) the sinful life we used to stay. through how there is also junk technology remember global warming uh huhh yeah proper. @Nicole---- too a lot to refute and your blending Jewish guidelines less than a theocracy device with the regulation of morality it fairly is envisioned human beings right now.

I think that it is wrong, just as any sin. It says in many scriptures that sex with the same gender is a sin and many other things. It also says that lying, stealing, cheating, killing, etc. are sins. The Bible says none of us are perfect, only God is. However, we as Christians should strive to live life in a Godly manner meaning, to me, we live life as God has layed out for us in the Bible. If I lie or judge others, think bad thoughts, steal, etc. I am to ask for forgiveness with a 'broken heart' basically. Meaning, that I truly am asking for his forgiveness. If I am, that means I will go forward and try (because I am not perfect) to sin no more. I'm sorry for those who are gay, but it is the same as any other sin, it is a sin in God's eyes and if you want to go to heaven you should do your best not to sin no matter what your sin is. I believe god can and will change those who ask and trust in him. It may mean you live a life of something you don't feel you are, but the same would go if you had a tendency to kill, steal or have sex outside of marriage. If you want to live life in eternity (which is much longer than our life here on earth) you need to pray that God changes you and give him the wheel. Believe me, I've struggled with many many sins that I have turned over to God. When I give it to him I do so much better with them, but if I get discouraged or let my guard down the devil is there to tempt me every time. I may faulter, but I always know what I did was wrong and I get mad at myself for it, but thankfully God loves me and forgives me b/c he knows I am truly sorry. Hope this helps!

The bible has been misinterpreted! The whole anti-gay thing is based on one line that was translated as "Man must not lie down with Man..." but apart from a single accent that wasn't picked up the line should have read "Man must not lie down with Child" and i think we'd all agree with that!!
But no church wants to admit one of the deciples make a spelling mistake! It would cost millions to re-print all the bibles in the world (just think of all the hotel rooms alone!!) so gays remain persecuted.... but at least society is becoming more open and acceptable!
God wouldn't have made gay people if he didn't want them to act on their natural instincts!..... temptation or not!
It's not one of the 10 commandments so noone is going to hell for it!!
Good Luck bro!

Why would it be wrong?
Just trust your own common sense over a book that everybody knows has been purposely changed, mistranslated, misinterpreted, had sections removed and lost, and new ones added.
Even if what was originally written down was 100% true, what is written in any bible you could find today has been altered so much you could no longer trust it.
As I said, common sense. Murder, theft, adultery, they hurt people. Having sex doesn't. Why would it be wrong? It's an expression of love.

I would never say you are gong to hell,I am not God, I am a
Christian, and every one sins basically if we were to live by the bible then one would assume we are all going to hell.Who can cast the first stone.According to the Bible no one is to have sex except a man and woman married before God to bring forth children. So therefore 99% of the planet is in sin. What concerns me is this new Church.Get out of there that sounds like a far bigger problem,to be in a church who tells you the bible is wrong.
Get away from them, remain with God in your heart.God knows
we are mere humans and we all sin.Pray, leave that church they
are something evil.Stop worrying, keep God in your heart,He will keep you in his.

You are another who is following blindly. To create your own religion is what the Bible refers to as idolitry. To create a religion around the desires of the flesh is wrong. People today in all the churches twist scriptures to satisfy there own personal beliefs and not what God said. I know that you could ask the people of Sodom and Gemmorah. Oh wait, their are all dead because of Gods wrath. I think that is where the word sodomy is derived from. But I'm pretty sure they all died except for Lot and his family. You should read the Bible, God clearly states what is up with how he feels about it. Or, you can keep going to a place to comfort your sin. Then congregate with the non-believers and dance together arm in arm on your way into the fires.
