Council member, Tim Ohare, doesn't want to hear it. He is all for suppressing civil rights and making this once dominant white town again a predominately white town. Either that or just put arm bands on non-whites with an "H" imprinted on them.

Ohare will segragate the city like Nazis did during the second war. Non whites not allowed, Non-English speakers not welcomed, curphew for the hispanic sector, hispanic kids can't play with my kids.

Frankly I would care less for a man like Ohare. He'll find his judgement in the Bible belt. Cause its a new belt baby, and its turning brown as I type. A good brown of course. Everyone in America is all for the big melting pot called the USA.

This is Texas now, the home of boots, longhorns, cowboys, and Bush.

MG, let me put it a little clearer for you. When a man like Ohare comes out with a biased ordinance in a town like Farmers Branch, then Ohare brings out all the real haters of hispanics.

These haters are the people who scream racist dispursions in the face of hispanic kids who are already assimilated in East Texas. They don't know spanish, they only look spanish.

Then you'll have white citizens harrassing hispanics in diners, bus stops, bars, shopping centers for proper credentials. This will happen cause it has happened before. Remember Civil Rights struggle of the 60's.

Unbelievable. Perhaps another Civil war is not so far-fetched. I have huge concerns that basic civil rights are ignored. Of course Republicans are fooled as well, Bush's highway goes right through threre...

I think that you are "way out there". People such as yourself stir up ill informed hate. This is not about being anti- Hispanic or anti-color. This is about being anti -illegal. Don't you dare compare this to the Holocaust! Illegals are not being stripped and sent to gas chambers. They are not being murdered. I married a Hispanic from Mexico so don't even imply that I am racist. Somebody needs to shake up Mexico. They have a responsibility to their people. Stop putting the blame and responsibility where it doesn't belong.

I have followed this story, and O'Hare does NOT want to put armbands on anyone! He wants Farmers Branch to remain English speaking, and illegals out of his city. I should NOT have to speak someone else's native language in my native country. (How would you like to be forced to speak Slavic?) I love legal immigrants, but have no sympathy for those whom are here illegally. Understanding the difference between legal, and illegal makes a big difference. The comparison to Hitler is insane, and I will disregard it.

Such an ordinance would make the town a laughing stock. And could open up to prosecution by the feds those who vote for it and enforce it.

Ever heard of the Civil Rights Act? Not to mention the Constitution?
