What do you think about the name Dawson for a girl? I mean, it's masculine but so were Jordan and Taylor awhile back. What do you think about the name Dawson for a girl?

It sounds like it's part of the big trend to name girls with last names, and these last names are usually given to boys. Jefferson, Hamilton, Jackson are just some of the names I've heard people name their girls. So Dawson is now better or worse than those. Since a lot of girls will grow up with these names she is less likely to be singled out for embarassment.

I love the name, If I was to have a girl her name was going to be Dawson or Dove. But I have 4 boys.

Personally, I don't like it for either sex. I know a family with Dawson as their last name, so for me, it just sounds weird as a first name. It might not be bad as a middle name though.

I know someone who named their little girl Addison and guess what the meaning of that name is? Son of Adam.

I like it, even if it's a little masculine, pair it with a super feminime middle name, Dawson Celeste or something like that, or Dawson Jada, so you can always call her DJ for short if it ends up being an issue

I have heard of it for plums but never for people. If you name someone that you had better give her a reasonable middle name because that is what she is going to use eventually.

Those good-for-both-sexes names turn out to be a real pain since they always mean the person has to explain to a clerk on the phone which gender they are. That gets annoying really quickly.

It reminds me of Dawson's Creek but anyway on to your question. I don't really like the name at all...if I heard of a girl named Dawnson I would automatically assume that she would be less than attractive. If you like that name why don't try Dawn. It's really all up to you people didn't like my son's name but it's wasn't their child it was mine and I named him what I wanted anyway.

Love: -Lorelei -Alice -Anneliese -Bethany -Penelope -Annabel -Audrey -Elizabeth Meh: -Ella - 5/10 - i do no longer in all probability like the -ella sound, yet Ella as a acceptance by potential of itself isn't that undesirable. -Odette -Dominique -Doreen - 4/10 - Doreen is dorky, and not in a competent way. Maureen is plenty cuter. -Veronica -Delilah Hate: -Nevaeh - 0/10 - Ew. want i certainly say extra? -Hayden - 0/10 - Boys call. -Jayden - 0/10 - Boys call. -Shelby - 0/10 - Surname. -Gabriella - a million/10 - i do in comparison to names ending in -ella. Gabriella sounds somewhat prissy and over-the-astounding-glam. -Emersyn - 0/10 - grotesque, misspelt surname. -Ryan - 0/10 - Boys call! -Seraphina - 0/10 - it is only like Gabriella. It only sounds so prissy and frivolous. -Aubrey - 0/10 - Boys call... -Alexandria - 0/10 - Alexandra is so overdone, and Alexandria only sounds even extra odd. -Ashleigh - 0/10 - grotesque, misspelt surname. And boys call. -Ashlynn - 0/10 - Made up and stupid.

Man its almost as bad as Sydney for a girl. The poor little things. I mean cant people imagine the baby as a grown up having to live with that name every day. Getting people thinking they are a man all the time. Sheesh people think!
