The ACLU, which is run by Democrats, protects this organization. It stands for the North American man boy love association. AKA child predators. Are you saying that even child predators need to be protected. What is wrong with you people?

If this isn't true, then why did Oprah do a show about it. The FBI is actually using this organization to crack down on child predators.

Here is the link. I think you are going to have to copy and paste it.

ETA: JB and Anne A...You are 100% correct. This is why I posted this question. I am so sick of seeing questions about Foley and having everyone put Republicans in the same catagory as him. He is sick.

I don't believe that all Democrats support NAMBLA, as it is clear that most Democrats didn't even know it existed.

I just wanted to say that sexual predators come in all walks of life. You should all watch Dateline NBC's "to catch a predator" series. It usually comes on every Saturday night. This show is a real eye opener.

I along with any sane person thinks the ACLU needs to be shut down using RICO statues for reasons such as this. I have no idea why any group would ever stick up for those who hurt the most helpless of us all, our young. NAMBLA is quite possibly the greatest abomination existing in our country. I think that anyone who hurts a child should be executed, locked up for life, or at least be forced to wear an ankle bracelet for life. And those who even attempt to hurt them should be locked up as well. I, as a parent, watch my kids like a hawk after watching this show. I also think the whole entrapment argument doesn't hold water as this is one of the most perverse and depraved criminal acts.

Wow, there are actually people who would defend NAMBLA and it sick twisted ideology. That's amazing. And there are people who don't believe NAMBLA stands for the National American Man Boy Love Association. That's striking. Perhaps folks should go to the nambla website before answering.

This is a group out of New York City and San Francisco who believes it is their right to engage is sexual activity with young minor boys or what they call intergenerational relations. I call it child rape and pedophilia. How can anyone support or defend that kind of deviant and illegal activity? The mind boggles. To cast this as a civil rights issue is an insult to every legitimate civil rights issue. Freedom of expression? They want to have sex with little boys. That falls under freedom of expression? Come on.

I think it's a little broad to charge that all Democrats support nambla. True, the ACLU has defended them. It is also true that the aclu is a liberal group. But I won't paint all democrats with that brush.

It's also curious that while people support NAMBLA they blast Foley although he never had sex with a minor. (He's still a diviant in my book.) A little consistency folks.

The ACLU is not run by Democrats. They tend to support Democrats because Democrats have traditionally been more interested in civil liberties and human rights issues than the Republicans, but they are not part of any political party and have been known to go after both parties.

The ACLU has defended NAMBLA for the same reason that they have defended the KKK, the civil rights movement in the South, union organizers, and a lot of other people and groups that a large number of people would like to see tossed in jail: because that's what they exist to do.

Disgusting as NAMBLA's opinions are, they are allowed to have them as long as they don't actually commit a crime... at which point I'm sure even the ACLU lawyers would quite happily toss them into a tiny cell with a bunch of burly guys with names like Bubba and Killer. It's NAMBLA's civil right to want to change the laws on the age of consent, it's even their right to lobby to do so, a right guaranteed by the First Amendment.

It's also the right of the rest of us to think they're sickos and keep an eye on the NAMBLA guys, and to report anything that we might happen to find which might help to arrange for them to get introduced to Bubba and the rest of the boys in the prison yard.

Obviously, you can read and form a sentence, so your question is clearly an exercise in purposeful ignorance. But, what the heck, I'll play along.

First, as you know, the ACLU is not "run by Democrats."

Second, as you also know, neither the ACLU or the Democrats "support and protect NAMBLA." What is being supported and defended is the rights guaranteed to ALL by that pesky Constitution. You know, the ones the Framers felt were important enough to include in the First Amendment. The same ones you rely on to protect you as you knowingly spew the obvious distortions and outright lies put in your mouth by your handlers.

I really don't care what NAMBLA, the Nazi's, the Klan or dozens of other organizations have to say. The problem is, once those groups have been silenced, it's only a matter of time before they get around to silencing those who strive to subvert every principle the country was founded on. If that should happen, your questions would (if only for the comedic content) truly be missed.

The ACLU defends civil rights matters. And the ACLU isn't "run by Democrats." Much like criminal lawyers who defend murderers. Distasteful? Yes. Necessary under our constitutional rights? Yes. The ACLU has also taken cases for far right wingers. Their concern is solely civil rights, nothing else. It doesn't mean they agree with the morals of their defendents. Just like a criminal lawyer may not agree that murder is perfectly fine.

Here's a quote from the ACLU regarding their defense of NAMBLA in one case:
"As of April 2005 the wrongful death cases were still before the courts, with the ACLU assisting the defendants on the grounds that the suit violated their First Amendment rights. [3]. The ACLU makes it clear, however, that it does not endorse NAMBLA's objectives. "We've never taken a position that sexual-consent laws are beyond the state's power to legislate," John Reinstein, attorney for the Massachusetts branch of the American Civil Liberties Union, said in 1997. "I've never been able to fathom their position." (Boston Globe, October 9, 1997)."

Democrats don't support NAMBLA. Neither does 99% of the population, including homosexuals. It's a disgusting association which suffers from low membership, as it should. It never fails to amaze me though how people who fling NAMBLA's name around as fodder against others never bring up the Rene Guyon Society - the straight counterpart to NAMBLA. Somehow, especially in the gay and lesbian section of YA, that association's name just never comes up. Interesting...

Anyway, that's my thoughts on the ACLU and NAMBLA - oh, and I'm not a Democrat.

Republicans have been linked to Sexual Predtorship as well. No one group has the corner market on that honey. I read the article and I fail to see how you can blame the democratic party as protecting child predators.

Look up the following: The Franklin Cover up

That will be HUGE eye opener for you. Sexual predators come from every walk of life and as high up in government as one can go.

Canctu... Untrue, but you already know that don't you.

Not all Democrats support NAMBLA. Nancy Pelosi who will be third in line to the Presidency has publically supported them though. I have a huge problem with that.

Timothy and Steve...before you folks defend the ACLU's support of this organization perhaps you should do alittle research of what it is they do stand for. It's pretty sick.

Maniac... Freedom of Expression? Weren't the 19 terrorists expressing themselves when they caused 9/11? Based on your logic, regardless of how damning a organization can be they have the right to freely express themselves and their right to do so should be protected. Sick Sick Sick

The ACLU is funded by congress --our tax $$
the original purpose has been supplanted by the organizations desire for $$$$..
(lawyers see green in any case as they can defend xxx "rights" ! No one in this country is unable to obtain legal assistance..so Why is the ACLU in existence???
Simple...the DEM's and other politicians will not withdraw funding because there will be a big campaign mounted to convince the stupid public that the ACLU is necessary to protect us from a oppressive /authoritarian government that will strip away our "rights"

The only way to get the ACLU GONE is to DEMAND that Congress* voids their funding.
(yes, they will likely get "support" from xxxbut it might help)
*(course getting Congress to stop playing their power games is another topic)..sad but true

What ACLU takes is a court case, not a persons views, unless only those YOU deem deserving can have their day in court! It is about the Constitution, no NAMBLA as you would love to link the Democrats with!

As a liberal, I investigated child abuse for 16 years! I never supported NABLA and as far as I am concerned they all have mental and sexual issues, and most belong in Jail!

Funny though, in my experience, most NAMBLA members are Republican!

As sick and wrong as most people believe NAMBLA is, Democrats want to protect them for the same reason they want to protect all organizations. They support it, because if they discriminate against one type of freedom of expression, then freedom of expression itself loses meaning. Dem's aren't in favor of what NAMBLA stands for, but rather they are in favor of NAMBLA's right to exist as an organization in America.
