Obviously if they loses they will be out of the National title game, but what about the Sugar or Orange?

Notre Dame if they end the season ranked in the top 8 recieve an automatic bid to a BCS game, if they are ranked in the top 12 they are eligible to recieve an at large bid. If ranked out of the top 12 though I dont see them getting into a BCS game, they will still play in a good bowl game just not a bcs game.

I think there is some confusion about who gets in the BCS bowls.
The six conference champions from the six power conferences
(ACC,Big 10, Big 12, Big East, PAC-10, and SEC) plus the two teams with the highest BCS standings rankings (at-large teams) get in. You can have a weak Big East champion make it for example, over a team from a stronger conference. It would be ideal if the top 8 teams in the BCS standings get into the bowl games, but that doesn't always happen. Currently, Notre Dame is sixth in the BCS standings, but it depends on what happens with the USC game if they lose. If they get blown out, you can expect a huge drop. If they lose in a tight contest, i.e. three points or less, I expect them to drop less. Margin of defeat will be crucial.

Notre Dame always plays in a bcs bowl game. There are entirely too many bowl games for them to not play in 1. Not to mention the fact that they are in an independent division which means no matter hat there record is they always finish atop. SO yes they will be in a bowl game.

you have written lots BS. Notre Dame gets overwhelmed by making use of USC. there is not any way Texas Tech will bypass to the national championship interest. no person is finding out on Notre Dame to win. whether they beat USC they gained't bypass to a BCS interest. they have lost to Syracuse, Boston college, Pittsburgh, North Carolina. i don't be attentive to the others yet Notre Dame sucks.

The will have to be in the top 8 to be in a BCS bowl game, however as long as they have at least a 50-50 record or better they are about guaranteed to make a bowl game of some sort, even if it isn't a BCS game.

By BCS rules, if Notre Dame finishes in the top 8, they are guaranteed a BCS bowl game. I know it sounds strange but that's the way it works.

If ND is ranked 8th in the BCS they get an automatic bid to a BCS bowl, so it is up to the voters. Otherwise they are still eligible for an at-large bid from the BCS.
I hope that OSU vs MU replay for the Natl Champ so that everyone can see how flawed this BCS system is and they move towards a play-off system.

Yes. There is a built-in biased towards Notre Dame. They will still make a BCS game.

Probably because the bowls love Notre Dame. They usually get picked over more deserving teams.

They will play in a bowl game because they qualify and the networks and the NCAA want them for the following and viewership. As far as a BCS Bowl...If they rank high enough, yes...you would have to think that the BCS would do everything they can to get them in.
