In 1989 The Limited was popular. Everyone wore "outback red" henley's from there. Scrunchies were all the rage. All bad fashion.

For girls, I'd say the most popular attire was: super tight acid-washed jeans with zippers and bows at the ankles with a tight-fitting sweater, scrunched baggy socks that cover the bottom of your jeans with white Reebok tennis shoes with 2 velcro tabs at the tops. Big, long permed hair with tall bangs. Big gold, hoop earrings and gold chain/charm.

That was my senior year in highschool. Big poofy hair was in style. (I looked like a poodle) All I remember wearing was my cheerleading outfit.
