He is a gamer, but I do not have the funds to drop on a Gaming computer. He loves World of Warcraft and any RPG games, but PC games are kind of out of the price range for us. Any advise would be great. I know the PS3 is coming out this week, but I figure they will have a tremendous amount of bugs to work out of the system before things work right. Plus the number of games released will be limited for now. Just need some advise. Thank you!

The Xbox 360 is a phenomenal system. It has an awesome controller, great graphics, a good price tag, and the best games on any console. Good choice on skipping on the PS3, there are so many rumors of the console having overheating issues and the controller not functioning properly. And the Xbox 360 has a few RPG games that are exclusive to the system and your husband is guaranteed to love.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
The Elder Scrolls V
Fable 2
BioShock
Mass Effect
Star Wars: KOTOR III
Command & Conquer

Being a gamer myself, I'd say no. The 360 is an ok but unspectacular system (no real killer games exist for it yet, and some of the best titles like Madden play better on the original Xbox) When Halo 3 is introduced I may change my tune, but that's next summer. Besides the 360 games themselves are expensive!

I'd say save the money and eventually get a gaming computer- with the recent price drops due to Intel/AMD price wars, a reasonably capable computer can be fnd for about the same price as a PS3, and nothing will surpass the fun of playing an online RPG like Vanguard or Age on Conan next year... Just put yourselves that much closer - you might even consider that many hardcore gamers who live on the bleeding edge and always want the latest tech will be looking to upgrade, and may be selling their existing rigs :)

If you're looking for games, Jade Empire and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (I & II) are RPG masterpieces.

everybody is saying memory yet its not in basic terms that. The Xbox 360 Elite has an HD port. So in case you have an HDTV then get the elite. Heres what each and each console has Xbox 360 Arcade - 256mb memory Card Xbox 360 top rate - 60gb problematic force (the previous one has 20gb) Xbox 360 Elite - 120gb problematic force

I think he will like it. In my opinion a console is the only way to play games. Computers just have so many bugs it seems like something is always going wrong or doesn't work right. The 360 is really coming into its own this year and the new games are really starting to take advantage of its power. Getting an online connection is definitely worth it. The only problem is are you willing to lose him for hours at a time?

I don't know why anyone would want an Xbox 360. Get a Nintendo Wii. It's cheaper and chances are you yourself might like it more than an Xbox 360. If you think PC games are out of your price, then you'll think the PS3 is way out of your price range. It's cost close to $600.

Well if he wants an established system with plenty of games, then xbox 360 is a good choice. However, if he wants to try something cool and exciting, then I would go with the Nintendo Wii which comes out on Sunday November 19th.

Well my husband got an xbox 360 he said for my "kids" but it turned out that it was really for him. I can not get him off it for anyting I mean if you are into siting with him while he plays xbox you can but, he is probaly not going to spend much time with you he will probaly spend it with the xbox! I hope you make the right choice. If you really want to get him a game then you need to get him the xbox it is much better.

If you are not 1 of those who can just waste money on anything, just don't do it.Even my hubby is a total game freak, but when I asked him about the Xbox, he was totally passive about it and said "it's silly, buy it for your kid".It would be better if you buy him something exceptional coz even if you dont buy it, he'll get it from some of his friends.gift him something that money cant buy or may be his friends cant give him.Even if it comes out to be good I dont think you want your husband to spend more of his time glued to the PS than spending some nice moments with you(hope you are not a game freak too, then you have an option!)

You can buy computer games cheaper than an X-box, plus the games. He's a grown man, you'll never get him off the couch.

If computer games are out of your price range, then the 360 games will definitely be out of your price range. 360 games are 49.99 (first party) to 59.99 (3rd party) and 69.99 (collector's edition), while PC games are about 29.99 to 49.99.
