How long before giving birth did your "nesting" instinct kick-in?

My nesting instinct came at 8 and a half months. I was like a woman posessed! Bleach and dettol all over the place. I decorated the bedroom, cleaned all the carpets and furniture, and everywhere got a coating of bleach. (the only exception being the 4 chocolate chip muffins I HAD to have every day!)

I remember scrubbing the stair carpet with boiling hot water and bleach, and washing walls down.

The house had never looked so clean!

I only had the "extreme" nesting instinct one time out of three pregnancies. With my second, I cleaned the entire house before I went into preterm labor at 31 weeks (it was stopped, and she was fine). Other than that, I had little urges to clean or cook, but nothing like cleaning the entire house - I was just too tired!

My mother had a baby when I was a senior in high school. She started really nesting at about 8 months. She cleaned and reorganized everything about 10 times before the baby came.....
