My boss has a 1943 zinc penny. He wants to know what it is worth. Can anyone tell me the worth?

Tell your boss they minted 684,628,670 of them at the Philadelphia mint, not counting Denver or San Fransisco mints. It is made of zinc coated steel, for copper was needed for the war effort. Most are in poor shape and are worth 2 to 5 cents. Even in high grade, they are only worth a few dollars. The coin does not even have a dealers buy offer. Most were saved, so there are a lot out there.

I'm not an expert, but I don't think it's worth much. Public libraries have coin catalogs that will provide you with more exact information.

depending on the condition and mint mark it is anywhere from 25 cents to 3 dollars depending on condition
