Everyone is different when it comes to stretch marks. Some people will use all types of lotions and still get them, and some will use the lotion and only get them in certain places.
I always used the palmers cocoa butter for stretch marks when i was pregnant, i put it all over my body, my stomach, butt, thighs, legs "love handles". And the only place that i got the stretch marks were on my butt. The Palmers works very well, and they have a variety of lotions besides just the stretch mark cream.
You should check out the website or you can go to any store, walmart, target, walgreens, cvs, krogers, kmart, etc. and get yourself some!

Some people get them, some don't, its all in the DNA. However, Cocoa Butter has been marketed to consumers as a stretch mark cream, but in reality it makes not a difference. There is a moisturizer called Shea Butter (only the 100% shea butter is effective, I would'nt use the kind they sell @ Bath & Body Works, etc.) You can get the real deal at a good health food store. The thing about shea butter is it is the ONLY thing in the world that actually penetrates the top layer of skin. So it does not just sit on top, it actually penetrates. It has been scientifically tested, and I can't say that using it will prevent stretch marks, but it certainly will make any ones that you get much lighter. Hope this helps!

I thought for a long time that lotions would help and coco butter as everyone claims that it works. I was reading through a book called "A girlfriends guide to pregnancy, or everything your dr. wont tell you". It's an awesome book, and through it, the author interviews several women and their experiences (as well as her own she has 4 children). One of the topics were about stretch marks. Stretch marks are actually scientifically proven to be genetically linked. Any doctor will tell you the same, however, the creams, and lotions will alleviate on the itchyness and dryness. Nothing will beat genetics, so do whatever makes you feel comfortable. GOod luck!

There are some studies that suggest that stretch marks are partially genetic so if your mom had them, its very likely that you will have them. The best thing you can do is drink ALOT of water and use cocoa butter every day (maybe even multiple times a day). If nothing else it will definitely minimize how many you do get. But hey, if everything fails, dont be too upset about it. Many women get them and they are just part of the deal.

I used Palmer's cocoa butter or stretch mark cream and I have no stretch marks from either of my pregnancies. I do know of women that used lotion and still got them, though. Good luck.

it's all about genetics, so if your mom got them most likely you will. You could use somethings to prevent them. I use a lotion by Mustela called double action that is special for pregnant women and stretch marks...you can find it at amazon.com....I also use a moisturizing shower gel (Nivea or Dove has great ones) so that even when I'm taking a shower my skin gets extra help. I'm 30 wks pg and Haven't got any yet (my mom never got them) so I'm hoping for the same, but it doesn't hurt to take extra precautions. Good luck

Go to the Drug Store and get Palmers Cocoa Butter. They have one that is extra for stretch marks. You might have to shop around to find it, but it's well worth it. Every morning after shower and before bed, spread it on your belly.
The Palmers is made with Shea Butter and half the price of the other one.

some people get only a few streach marks and others alot. If you do get them nothing will help you stop them. Streach marks develope from the inside out so aplying lotion will not help. Lotion does help with the itch which may reduce change of getting deeper streach marks caused by scratching.

I had a friend tell me that Palmer's Cocoa Butter makes a cream especially for stretch marks. That may work.
But I like my stretch marks. They show me what I'm capable of doing with my body!
