If you go strictly by one-man-one woman -- no.
In the overall human population, women outnumber men by a small percentage (about 52% to 48%). That leaves a few million women out in the cold when it comes to husbands.

The higher ratio of women to men has been around ever since there have been humans (we all start out as female after conception, it takes a specific genetic and hormonal "kick" to make a male) -- it's one reason plural marriage (polygamy) was the rule in ancient cultures, it allowed all the women in a social group to have husbands.

The saying has been around since the invention of peanut butter and jelly, maybe even longer.

What's the population of the world? Over 6 billion people, I'm sure there is someone out there for everyone. Whether you find that special person or not, is totally a different story.

I have heard this over and over from pretty much everyone and I think it is NOT TRUE!!!!! There is SO MANY lonely people in this world along with the UGLY people too!!! SO I just cant seem to believe that there is someone out there waiting for you and you finding your match. So this statement in my opinion is pretty much a bunch of B. S. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IMO, sayings like "there's someone out there for everyone" is a bunch of hooey. It ranks up there with, "If you study hard and go to college, you'll automatically have a bright future ahead of you." Bullshit.
