I think if white men made a movie dressed up as and acting like black girls (and titled it "Black Chicks") they would get ostracized for doing it.

Your thoughts?

To elaborate on Neptune's comment; he is right. I go to stores and see magazines like JET and BLACK BOOTY or whatever; and then go to Blockbuster and see BLACK SPRING BREAK and BLACK MISS AMERICA and that kind of stuff. I understand that different races have different likes and dislikes, but i think that is another double standard where people cry if there isn't a black man in The King Of Queens. Or even better; the Detroit Lions hired coach Steve Mariucci a few years back, and they got fined for not interviewing and minority candidates. WTF? Why get fined when you know who you want to coach your team! I've never heard of getting fined for hiring a minority with first interviewing a white guy.

I agree, it's a huge double standard taking place.
Other examples include all black colleges.
All black beauty pageants. If there was an all white pageant, it would be considered racist as well.

That's just the way it is, somethings will never change.

Edit: Just saw your additional details. I also agree on your observation of NFL coaches. I hear announcers talk about the lack of black head coaches. So what. If you find a white guy who is better suited for the job, then that's who you hire to win you games. That brings up the affimitive action law which is a whole different topic. But, let me reassure you, I have never heard of anyone complaining that there is not enough white people in the NBA. It just goes back to the head coaching topic. If black people are better players, then thats who you draft. If white people are better coaches, then that's who you hire. It's not being racist, it's about winning.

the chick thing (tranvestitism) and the race thing are two different things. it is almost always a bit funny to see men dressed as women, expecially if they are doing it to be funny and not to really try to be women. this silliness disguises or mitigates the apparent racial overtones and makes it less offensive.

However, it is true that a certain reverse bias exists in this as in anything else. it is always allowed more for blacks to mock white than vice-versa. maybe because it is a reversal of the ordinary class situation. like a poor person can mock the king but a King should never mock the poor. ( remember Marie Antoinette?)

Blacks are ordinarily put down by the white ruling class so it is just a form of rough justice to allow the blacks more leeway to tease whites. ( pay back is a bicth)

If it is real reverse racial bias for something important, like admisson to medical school in the case of Bacchi (or some name spelled like that), then it should not be tolerated.
But with the humor attempt. it is just best to laugh and enjoy the joke. do not be so uptight and defensive. the blacks put up with Amos and Andy for years. not it is our turn to be mocked.
the actors in this case do not care if you ostracize them anymore than you probably already do. they were playing to their own audience

Give it a rest Kid! You're right, they would get ostracized for it. That's why they don't do it. Blacks have all sorts of "black' activities but whites can't have anything all their own, not even "Miss America." It has to include black girls too but you people can have a "Miss Black America" and we're not allowed to say anything without being called racists. I even saw a National Black rodeo advertised last week.

Well back in the day white comedians did just that but that was also a different time. I for one think they should. I think that minority groups get away with alot more then we think we just accept it for fear of being racist. One example black people get upset if you call them black...its not "PC" they want to be call African AMericans. however do they ever call us anything but white people..no. and no one cares.

There is a huge double standard , But if you defend white
you turn into a racist so there is no winning.
I guess we all just have to hope for a better future

I personally see one race the human Race but, I guess we will always
see a problem if we are focusing on it, I am Hispanic born
in California, yet in school, as a kid other Latinos called me wet****
or been*r, (mojado) I ignored it and it stopped
I just hope for the BEST.............................

You are correct. Minorities can do it because they are oppressed.

Blazing Saddles couldn't be made today because we are afraid to offend someone.
