Gerald Levert Dead at 40
Gerald Levert, R&B singer, former member of the 80s group Levert and son of O'Jays singer Eddie
Levert, died today of an apparent heart attack. He's known best for the Levert hit "Casanova," some
solo charters, and the really funny crooning parts of Chris Rock's comedy classic "No Sex In The
Champagne Room."
Levert and his dad went on a tour together a few years ago called "The Father And Son Tour." The
two men, who were both large, were the target of much good-natured teasing from radio personality
Tom "The Sky Jock" Joyner and his morning crew. He was a great singer, a father and a son. He will
be missed.
