Make sure the suction cups are not misshapen. The out of shape allows air to get into the seal more easily.

If they are out of shape, clean them with soapy water, rinse them. Clean the glass. Have a container of boiling water nearby. Drip the suction cup briefly. It will soften it. Immediately press onto window glass. Hopefully it will dry and remove the misshape.

Put some toothpaste on a perfectly flat surface and rub the suction cup in a circular pattern for a few minutes - adding a few drops of water if the paste dries out. Tooth paste is a mild abrasive and it will take away the imperfections in the plastic of the suction cup that are causing the seal to break. If using the cup for a fish tank make sure you clean it well before you use it.

Moisten them with a sponge or towel. Not too much just damp enough and the water will help them stick. If you are hanging something very heavy, try using three suction cups, in the shape of a triangle, and that will distribute the weight a little more evenly.

Clean suction cups with soapy water (dawn is good) or windex. Clean window with windex/ammonia. Apply the tiniest bit of oil (vegetable oil is fine) to the suction cup, making sure to rub around the rim. Press on firmly.

THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO. Clean the window, wash the suction cups, make sure everything is dry. Wet them a little. IT DOESN'T MATTER, THEY WILL NOT STICK.

Believe it or not a tiny bit of Vaseline works great! I mean barely touch the Vaseline and put it into the cup. If you put to much it will slide, but a very, very tiny bit. It always works for me.
