Boy, you have it so wrong. The whole world is not youth oriented. Perhaps now that you're turning 30, you will grow up some and won't be worrying about heading off to the clubs. It's time to mature and move on.
I am a 41-year-old woman and let me tell you something, I am sexier now than I ever was in my 20's or 30's. I know my body. I know how men respond. I enjoy sex more and I am better at it! I look damn good in short skirts and high heels.
I have three children. I work full-time. I have a fantastic and mature lover who is my soul mate. I have great friends who have been with me for more than 20 years. I know myself and what makes me happy and content. I don't have to pretend to be anyone else. I am gracious, loving, intelligent, well read, fun-loving and proud of what I have accomplished.
You're going to have a really hard life if you think that turning 30 is so grim. Remember - it's better than the alternative!

Yes, all the time. I can't help it because I am so vain.
I hated turning 30!!!!
I felt very down especially since I had my second child and still felt really fat and frumpy.
I dont' know what to say, except that 30 isn't considered old any more. I kind of got over it, but still get these jealous pangs sometimes to see younger people out partying, without kids, who aren't fat!
Yes, and not doing everything I wanted to do sucks too. Every birthday ( and i know this is bad) I think of my life so far and all that I haven't accomplished, and feel bad for being so "old" and yet still so unsuccessful and unaccomplished.
My situation is different than yours, but I try to concentrate on the future, and what I want to do to change this. My plan is to get started on a career once my kids are in school during the day.
Think about what you might want to do in the future or what you might want to work on becoming.

Age is just a number. You can still have fun whether you're 20 or 50. You'll learn pretty soon that hanging at the bar all the time will NOT be the best use of your time, but all in all, turning 30 can be survived. I passed that a long time ago, and I'm not ready for a rocking chair by any means.
Of course, if you want to just mope about it instead of doing something, maybe you'll need that rocking chair sooner than I will.

Yes, it's normal to feel that way. When you do, just remember that there are countless females who are older than you by decades even and who get even more depressed when they turn 40, 50, 60.... And, of course, it's by no means a female problem. I'm not far from turning 50 and yes it does feel like I've missed out on a lot in life. But that only becomes a problem when I start thinking that life is about to end, which I hope is not the case. Life, human nature, God (if you believe) equips us with the ability to make sense of whatever stage of life we find ourselves at. I've known many elderly people who are quite positive about life and even don't fear death. Think about it....If it weren't that way, we'd all live scared and in despair every day of our lives after 30!

Hey there, I turned 30 this past April, and while at the time I was very depressed about it (hey, only 10 more years until we are 40...ugh!) I got to thinking that this is the time when we really need to liven things up. I've joined up several different groups that interest me and hope to do a lot more travelling next year. Enjoy the time while we are still young because when we hit 40 we'll be "over the hill". =)

Well happy early birthday to you! I know how you feel. I went home last weekend and started talking about shows I watched as a kid and my 15 year old sister gave me a look like I was speaking in another language. She had never heard of any of them. I am only 27 and already starting to feel like I cannot relate to the popular styles and tastes of today's youth as much. But I know I am still young and taking the time to enjoy every second of it while I can.

I did too. 37 today and I would never do my 20s again. You're still sexy and you have some life experience that gives you maturity. I have found my life to be a more whole and satifying altogether. I feel great, look great, and am a better person as a whole. I don't freak out about much anymore and I have plenty of mistakes that gave me wisdom. I say...bring on the 40s.
Sidenote: WE..WE women MUST be the ones responsible as a group to end this crazy youth game. We must start valuing ourselves and each other more as we age and stop this giant LIE that being youthful is somehow better.

Oh gosh. I'm 34 and I once said that to one of my classmates and she chewed me out royally. "We are not old," she said. I had a little issue turning 30 too, but I got over it pretty quick. What you need to do is look at the biggest female stars, the ones who are getting all the attention. Angelina Jolie for one, isn't she like 31? Now, I don't know about you, but I actually feel better about myself now than I did when I was 16. I have a better body all the way around, a little saggier, but I'm more of a woman now, not a teeniebobber. 30's are good. Trust me. You can still dress somewhat sexy too, just don't overdo it. Watch the show, "What not to wear." I have seen some really sexy outfits on some of these "older" women like us. LOL Enjoy it, before the sags and wrinkles really set in.

I just turned 22, and all my friends and family are calling old. It tends to get on my nerves sometimes, but I used to be afraid of turning 25, but i don't care anymore. Every tells me i still look as if i'm 15. I get carded every time i buy my beverages. (It never stops.) And people think my mother is my sister or best friend. She's 40.
My point is: (Like everyone has said.) Age is nothing but a stankin' number. If you're young at heart it doesn't matter.
No matter how older i get. I still tend to enjoy a happy meal every now and then.
ENJOY LIFE! And be proud to be 30 with a young heart.
P.S. When you give up on life, that's when you begin to feel old.
