I don't recommend you do that!
Prison is prison for a reason - it's a punishment.
Don't punish yourself even more buy subjecting yourself to something like that. People commit suicide in prison, rather than endure it any longer. The "nice" bits of being in prison are hugely exaggerated by the meda and skeptics of prisons.
People always talk (and moan) about prison being too easy. That's only because everyone knows prisons are meant to be horrible so it's not interesting to talk about how awful they are!
Maybe the real question you should be posting should be asking for help with your finiancial and health problems. The advice you may recieve will be more valuable than condemning yourself to a prison sentence!

I am a retired prison nurse and can tell you the health care in prison is inadequate, and it is the last place you want to be if you have serious health problems. If you are being bankrupted by healthcare costs your options vary state to state, but there is always someplace you can apply for indigent healthcare, either at a county hospital or welfare office. You should also consider filing formally for bankrupcy. You almost certainly do qualify for proper healthcare under Medicaid and the discharge of most of your medical debts; you just need to ask enough questions to the right people. As I stated earlier, start by enquiring at your local welfare office and/or county hospital.

If you are in the UK, you won't get into hospital, you'll get into a prison, where you will receive health care, but it may be pretty basic. I am informed by people who've been there that prison is not a place you want to be old or sick.
Why have you been paying hospital fees anyway? How come you're prepared to accept NHS care if it comes via prison but not before?

My husband has been in federal prison for 26+ years. I know of a young man who was gang-raped and died from his injuries because there was only one doctor for 2000 men. I know of an elderly diabetic man who died in his wheelchair outside the med unit waiting for help, even with other inmates trying to get attention for him. If you have a heart attack in there you are dead. If you get an infection, you could lose the limb. You're lucky if you get your meds on a regular basis and most of the guys in there are more afraid of getting sick than they are of anything else, because they know they could die.
Stop believing everything you see in the newspapers and what your politicians tell you. Prison is hell on earth.

Why couldn't you get treatment on the NHS? I'm sure Human Rights law applies to all humans, not just prisoners

I would opt for the mental system vs. the prison system. I know people who summer up North and winter in the Southern States.

I take it you are not from the UK, we have a national health service here which means EVERYONE is entitled to the same healthcare, irrespective of how much money they have.
