It's kind of a "what if" book. It tells the story about the Civil War in reverse. In another words it describes the Civil War as the South winning the War and what may have happened if the reality of the War was reversed.

Well, Harry Turtledove has done a LOT of alternative histories involving the South winning the Late Disputation and the results....could you be thinking about the _Guns of the South_, where the Confederacy manages to get its hands on AK47s, if I remember correctly? (Great book, BTW.)

There's also MacKinley Kantor's _If the South Had Won the Civil War_.

Good luck finding your book....Are you familiar also with the _What If?_ collections (typically in SF/F), if you're interested in alternative histories? You might enjoy those, too....

Confederate States of America is a great mockumentary about the South winning the war, but I'm not sure if there is a book titled this

Phillip K. Dick wrote a book like this. I can't remember the title, but you should be able to find it on Amazon.
