Perhaps failure is in the eye of the beholder...everyone fails at some point and then you are given another chance down the line to run into the same problem again..It's called "life".

I agree totally with the point you are making here.

No child ever learns to stand up without falling a few times at least. Failure is the greatest teacher for those who are inclined to learn.

Fear of failure makes one avoid even trying to achieve something. The saying that there is no gain if their is no risk is as true as there is no loss if there is no risk.

In the banking industry, if a bank has no bad debt at all, it is considered to be too conservative to be in business. Similarly, any human being who has never failed is not human since the basic qualities of inquisitiveness, enterprise and experimentation are what makes a human being so superior to the other beings. Failure and dissatisfaction are the pillars of success and progress!!

Without addressing the detail of your Q,,,even those who live cautiously can be confronted by risk, and choose to accept or deny it.

Anyone can walk on water,,, if they know where the stones are.

As a species we are often so inclined to explore. Most of us have specific or vague acceptance levels for risk and possible failure. Strictly speaking however there is no real Sin, in not trying, although to some, the "NOT" may be perceived as a level of failure?

I was just thinking about this when reading about Winston Churchill and his disaster at Gallipoli. If it had worked, it would have saved about a million British lives, so he probably made the best move available and ran into bad luck. Two other schemes of his, the airplane and the tank, eventually saved the world in the next war.

First of all, ask yourself this question: What IS failure?
Inability?
Surrender?
Unattained goals?

ALL humans have "failed" at one thing or another. As infants, we initially "failed" while attempting to walk, talk or socialize. As youths, we "failed" at peer pressures, growing up issues and other experiences. As adults, we "fail" when we attempt to measure ourselves against the accomplishments and goals of others.

Each of us actually LIVES via failures... which really aren't failures at all. What they represent is growth and development. We learn from our errors; we move on; wiser and more sure-footed. If we haven't learned from our mistakes, we are destined to repeat the actions until we do.

So. To answer your question... If you are alive, you have "failed" at something or other.

As far as the "perfect people are concerned, my adage is this:

"All men are like diamonds; none are alike, and ALL have flaws."

Thanks for writing, and Good Luck to you!

as one said, you only learn by failure. have you ever thought that one who's claiming to be perfect, it's the way he/she sees itself ? and what exactly defines perfection ? maybe they haven't run into problems, or maybe they have and solved them right away ! and maybe, at some other point of their lives, they 'll come across a problem and won't be able to deal with it..that's life. times you fail, times you succeed... that's how it always goes. and try to remember also, that ones "successful" way maybe "failure" to you and the opposite.....

I have never failed. It just took me a while to succede.

Its not the failure that is important, its the way we handle it.

Every good salesman knows he has to get a certain number of nos
before he gets a yes. He doesn't let the nos bother him. They aren't
personal.

Life is full or ups and downs. Good and bad. We can not appreciate the good without the bad. And yes if you never attempt anything how will you know if you can succeed or if you will fail if you never attempt.

Yes, its probably true. I do not know anyone who has not failed or done something incorrectly in their life experiences. I do not know anyone perfect (on earth) and think I would not want to.

Think about failure and what it teaches us. Humility, determination (to try again), humor (to laugh at our failures)...just to name a few.
