If you are living in or around Kolkata, it is College Street. All second hand books might not be dirt cheap though. A little bargaining is in order.

amazon.com is a great place to get books. a lot of the novels you need for some classes you can get for around $5.00, rather than 20-30 at the college book store. shipping and handling isn't too bad on there, and i have always gotten my books in just a few days after ordering.

Yard sales, thrift stores (one by me had a complete old edition Britanica for $40), library sales (out here where I am every wednsday they have sales in the basement and I got an old PDR for $2.
