Nothing, the war in Iraq is to clean up the mess what Bush Jr's father and Reagan started with backing Saddam as Iraq's president and helped Saddam fight Iran. Also another major factor is the oil. The link is a time-line that will show over time our Presidents support for Saddam and then the mess they are trying to clean up. Notice how much oil the United States was buying from Iraq, in particular Cheney, right before 9/11. This war is all about the oil. Saddam had nothing to do with the attacked on us on 9/11. Bin Laden did and why did not Bush go after him with more vengeance than he has on Saddam?

Another link that states our past Presidents backing for Saddam.

In the 40 years I've been alive there has always been terrorist bombings or hostages taking in buildings or airplanes.
I haven't noticed very much in the last five years, the bomb in Spain and some in Russian.

It used to be a common thing to see a bus in England with the top blown off or a U.S. embassy blown up and hostages with sheets over their heads.
There is no telling how many airplanes that were hijacked in the past 40 years, too many to count.

These last 5 years have been the most peaceful time I've known in my entire life but I'm scared that if the democrats take office it'll be business as usual for the terrorist.

I don't know of any. If anything, the situation has gotten MUCH worse, because the war has become a cause celebre among the Islamic fundamentalists and a whole new generation of terrorists is now being bred.

To begin, the have been no attacks on US soil since 9/11. Hundreds (perhaps thousands) of planned attacks have been foiled. Most of the leadership of the terrorists are either dead, or on the run. Accounts have been frozen to end the funding of such crap. And, I am sure, there are more things that security cannot allow to be made public. Where have you been that you don't know this? Gitmo Bay?

ummm, let's see. OPEN training camps on a huge scale for terrorists in Afghanistan are gone. There are still camps there no doubt, but on a MUCH smaller and quieter scale. Billions of dollars of terrorist money frozen. Life in general is much harder for terrorists. Is the war won? No, not in my lifetime, but we have gained ground.
