Something comfortable, waterproof and durable to sit on when fishing - or one of those small tent things they use to sit in and stick the rod out of to keep them from the elements. Maybe a selection of different types of hook. Does he want a new rod?

Not a cheap hobby so anything from a packet of hooks to a brolly or tent or seat BUT DO NOT BUY HIM A ROD you would probably get the wrong type. Also depends how much you want to spend if you have a good budget you could get him a premier pass to Grantham Water [the best trout and pike water in the country]and as you wave him goodbye you could use the pass he has got you to your local beauty salon ,then on to a great night with the girls cause he won"t be back early

buy him a good fishing dvd or two , then when the weather is rubbish outside and he can't go fishing, he will be able to watch the dvd and dream about fishing even though he can't wet a line, he'll thank you for it .

that is the concept that counts, not the quantity spent. If a stranger offered me a frog statue for fifty.00 and a chum were given me a cheap bangle bracelet for 10.00, i might want to savour them both for diverse motives. as long as your heart replaced into in it... it really is what concerns.
