Hi there,

Here's some detailed information on the POEBOT infection:

The best and easiest way to remove this is by installing the Free Trial of Prevx1. This will scan your PC and remove this and any other infections free of charge.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO DOWNLOAD AVG - please bear in mind that the Free version is being DISCONTINUED IN JANUARY, therefore it will NO LONGER WORK.

I had the appropriate comparable subject and it grew to become into rather stressful. I bear in mind making use of malwarebytes and all of them to do away with it, yet interior the top i'm fairly confident I purely went into My computing device and located a Win32 report and that i made confident I deleted each and every thing bearing directly to it, and then it purely went away. according to risk attempt doing a seek on My computing device to ee in case you will locate any data connecting to it and delete them? with the aid of fact it particularly is all I had to do. wish this works :)

What you have is known as Backdoor.Win32.PoeBot.a

here is the page of the virus and its variant form

http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_135434.htm

update your definitions manually from this
to ensure you can detect it and properly remove it...
http://www.mcafee.com/apps/downloads/security_updates/dat.asp

you also may want to enter SAFE MODE by hitting F8 When your pc first boots up, this will ensure the file is not in use...

When the file is in use, it says you cant remove it because it is archived or read only.

I agree 100% with above. McAffee Sucks. Use free AVG (latest 7.5).

Download antispyware and try searching for that virus.
Try AVG antivirus too, that might work.
