It depends.
Usually, it's when the child turns 18, or finishes high school if they turn 18 before they graduate.
But in some cases, the judge rules that the non-custodial parent has to continue the support when a child goes to college until he/she graduates college.
If the child gets emancipated and/or married younger than 18, then support stops.

It will say in the order how long support is ordered for. There are a lot of circumstances that can occur that can change a support order in the future, so make sure you have a current copy for an exact age.

Depending on your state--at age 18 AND graduated from high school or otherwise empancipated (ie 18 and no longer pursuing a HS diploma). Some states require you to pay to 19 and others longer. 18 most of the time. I think if they are going to school then you pay till they are 22 or 24, something like that.

when the child turns 18,but if you owe back support the child can sue you for the balance when they turn 18.
