i fell asleep because i am getting sick, and my head was hurting and i got lousy sleep the night before.

i put my head down for "just a minute"...and the next thing i knew i was being tapped on the shoulder.

I fell asleep all the time in my old job, they gave me bonuses regularly and made me employee of the month three times. If I said amen though I'd probably have been fired. But I'll remember that next time I fall asleep in a Church.

The call centre eventually closed down because the parent company was restructuring. I went to the doctor about it, he said it's normal to fall asleep when you're bored, he called it "tired all the time". He suggested that I look for more interesting work in the future.

Seriously, you may be overqualified for your work. Try to get a more interesting job.

It also may be a medical condition, you might want to visit the doctor if you can't keep yourself awake.

You are seriously lucky.

When I worked for Palmetto GBA (The #1 Medicare Contractor) anyone who was caught sleeping got a tap on the shoulder and were escorted out of the building. No questions asked.

If you are that sick take the day off. It is better losing a days pay then getting fired and having no job.

LOL!!! the amen thing was hilarious!!!! :-D
That's what I call quick answer.
If you fall asleep again, the best thing to do is to start looking for a new job, because one of two thing will happen: either you will be fired on the spot, or you will fall asleep until you are.
And don't you think it is time for you to think your job thing. If you fall asleep it means that you aren't intellectually motivated with what you are doing. And don't tell me you were ill, otherwise you wouldn't ask what to do the next time you fall asleep. (this means you are considering the possibility of falling asleep again)

You should never put yourself in a position so you fall asleep at your job. You have a responsibility to your employer to act responsibly and falling asleep is not doing that. You were lucky that you did not get a warning.

If your job is boring, ask your line manager for more work or have a talk to her about your boredom.

if you fell asleep because you are having too many late nights, then go to bed earlier on a weekday and save the partying for the weekends.

Start drinking more coffee!

I fell asleep on my first day as a trainee legal exec! I was sharing an office with my boss too. He made me read old files on industrial deafness yawn...... what did he expect????

The office junior woke me up with a nudge when she delivered the afternoon tea!

If you feel sleepy again then you can try a few things. Open a window for some fresh air. walk to the toilets and run cold water over your wrists. drink coffee or cold water.

if your boss catches you again you might not be given a chance to explain.

good luck

also Chinese workers swear by 'micro sleep' they say it improves performance. you could try that one.

A bus driver died quietly in his sleep. Unlike the screaming passengers as the bus went over a cliff

The boss called one of his employees into the office.

"Rob," he said, "you've been with the company for a year. You started off in the post room, one week later you were promoted to a sales position, and one month after that you were promoted to district manager of the sales department. Just four short months later, you were promoted to vice-chairman. Now it's time for me to retire, and I want you to take over the company. What do you say to that?"

"Thanks," said the employee.

"Thanks?" the boss replied. "Is that all you can say?"

"I suppose not," the employee said. "Thanks, Dad."
