It uses wonderful imagery and gives different perspective on the meaning of genuine love. The things people would do for someone they love.

I had always wished that somebody would sing Tracy Byrd's "The Keeper of the Stars" to me, especially my husband. The lines "... It was no accident me finding you... Just to look into your eyes, I know I don't deserve a treasure like you, There really are no words... I hold everything, When I hold you in my arms, I've got all I'll ever need..." They give me a yearning and an ache in the pit of my stomach. It tugs my heart strings and I am really not much of a romantic usually. Until about 5 1/2 years ago, to me it was the most romantic song ever.
Then, underway on my last ship, I was watching Pure Country with some friends in the boat shop. When George Strait started singing "I Cross My Heart", my best guy friend proclaimed that it was the most romantic song that he has ever heard (and he really dislikes country music). I was shocked and really listened to it for the first time that night. Now the lyrics "... promise to, Give all I've got to give, To make all your dreams come true... And as long as there's still a breathe in me, I'll make yours just as sweet... You've got the promise of my love, To keep you warm" make me feel warm, comfy, and secure; kind of like my husband's love does feel like.
Too bad he has never sang these songs to me. :( He likes to sing "Joy to the World" (about Jeremiah the bullfrog), "Margaritaville", and "Gimme Three Steps"! Whatever......

nothing to do with god for a start...
its very simple and to the point without making you feel sick like celine dion does.
a good love song doesnt have to be sickly for it to be good.
