Statistically speaking yes and that is due to large population. At the same time India is also home to very large number of rich people who can populate a small country.

I'm from Singapore. So, don't think I'm supporting India because I'm in India. It is definitely not a poor country.
It has been prospering in all fields. Specially in the field of computers.The majority of the people in this field are Indians.The latest surveys that India will be a developed country in 2020.Many countries are surprised about the sudden growth and prosperity of India.
*International companies like NIKE, NOKIA etc have built industries in the Indian state Tamil nadu.
*Singapore has decided to let only Indians to apply for passes in Singapore for the next whole year.

Not true.

Indian economy is rising astronomically. One of my professors is Indian. She's in her early forties. She says the India now is unrecognizable compared to the India she grew up with (70's, 80's).

The poorest country in the world at the moment is Afghanistan (which is actually not too far from India)

rich or poor should not be decided on the bases of money or wealth. we are the richest as far as freedom is concerned. in which country do you men pee where ever they like, spit all over and throw garbbage as they like. if it where any where else but india they will be fined. our people when they go there behave properly but once they land on mother india .....sorry i dont want to repeat all that again

India may be a developing country but its nowhere near the poorest.in terms of poverty,its now a medium-ranked nation.it is richer than any other nation in the subcontinent.

No way.India is one of the emerging economies,identified as BRICS country.Better visit Somalia,Nepal,Bangladesh to judge the poorest nation.

well money wise...yes but it will become the worlds power one day in teh future....heart and sensitivity wise....no ...INDIA MAY BE POOR BUT WE THE PEOPLE HAVE BIG HEARTS
