You take whatever fruit they are attracted to, put them in a ziplock bag... remember to leave the bag open. Wait a couple of hours (I do it over night) and when you go back the flies will be on the fruit. You quickly zip up the bag and throw the fruit... and flies... away. Wala!!

I have answered this a number of times.. You didnot say fruit flies in the house or iin the yard? If in the yard.. be sure that the fruit(overly ripe fruit, etc) is picked not only from the tree but from the ground as they will draw fruit flies.. If in the house.. get rid of any overly ripe fruit or anything else that is spilled(sweet stuff, etc) on the counter top, etc and then you can spray the flies to kill them.. The key, as I said, is to clean up the spilled sweetened stuff on the floors/countertops, etc

If they are in the house put 2 oz of cider vinegar and two to three drops of liquid dishwashing soap in a small juice glass and set out, I put several glasses of this mixture out, wait a few days and look thru the bottom of the glass, you won't believe how many of the fruit flies or gnats are in the bottom of the glass. Make sure that you don't have a bag of onions or potatoes setting around some where that have a rotten potato or onion in them as they draw gnats like a magnet. I used this remedy for the first time this year and it really works.

Get a small juice glass and fill it halfway with either some white or red wine.

Then get a peice of cling wrap and an elastic band. Place the cling wrap over the opening of the glass and secure it with the elastic band.

Get a toothpick and prick a bunch of holes in the cling wrap.

Place this on your counter and you will be amazed at how many fruit flies will be attracted to the sweet wine... Once they are in the glass, they can't get back out through the cling wrap!
