i went to a laywer already to find out how much it would cost for a legal seperation (a counsole) can i frreze his assets he is in mexico and he is not planning on coming back

If his assets are in Mexico, definitely not. Even if his assets are in the US, you'll have a hard time. They usually only freeze assets for people who have committed crimes or owe the government money.

If he's already in Mexico, I'd say he got the jump on you, and you're probably wasting money on lawyers.

Depending on the laws of your state you will either have to file for divorce or for statutory separate maintenance; and in your petition state he has gone to Mexico & set forth facts that lead you to believe that he intends to remove all his assets from the jurisdiction & therefore you need a restraining or sequestration order. You need an experienced divorce lawyer for this. Expect to pay substantial $$ in fees & you may have to post a bond.

MLaw is right; there are certain mechanisms, liens, and/or injunctions that you could file to prevent your husband from secreting away assets. But consult a lawyer.

no you cannot freeze your husbands assets as you have no right to his assets until you divorce or he dies
