Nothing that close to downtown is going to be under $100 a night. Check the Drury inn by Union Station. I've had some luck getting $45 rooms during the week. You may have to take Metolink and walk a few blocks so you may not feel safe if you are by yourself. Your next closest and safest bet would be to stay at a motel near the airport and again take Metrolink to the even then back again. Don't forget to check the websites like cheaptickets.com and the one travelocity.com. They will always get you the best deal. Hope this helps

Try Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel, as it is walking distance of The Edward Jones Dome

Is the event possibly Monster Jam. I am staying at the Rennissance, which is a couple of blocks. I tried the Drury (which is right next door) but they did not have rooms available that night. If I am uncannily correct about the event, that is the same night as Mardi Gras...so book early. I got my room for 119. That was the cheapest of the hotels nearest dome except for the econo lodge. However, I drive by there everyday and I know where the econo lodge is located. I would rather pay a little extra instead of staying at that one.

Try Priceline.com and bid for a hotel. I did this last May and my husband and I got the Radisson downtown for $33/night plus an extra $10 for parking in the hotel garage. We had a room with a river view right in front of the Arch. I think the "retail" on the room was like $130 night. They even bumped us up to a nicer room because I requested a King and it was sold out.

If you haven't used Priceline before, you pick a location (in this case Downtown St Louis) and a star rating and name what you're willing to pay. If you're lucky, they will bring back a hotel willing to take that price. I've used them for multiple locations including Orlando and Chicago and have always gotten great prices on awesome hotels.

The Drury Inn and Suites Convention Center off N. Broadway is usually anywhere between $60-$100. Great location, surrounded by lots that St. Louis has to offer. Hope this helps and have fun in the Lou!
