If you are tring to hide this from your parents, then that should work. Unless their is a Net Logger of some sorts installed on the PC. I would also suggest making sure you select delete all off line files also. Now if it is the government that is taking a peek. They will be able to find out your surfing history. This is ture because once you delete your cache and cookies. The files are still their you just cannot see them with out a data recovery service of some sorts. I hope this answers your question. I would recomend if your hiding this from your parents to just download a third party browser like firefox. That way if you forget to clear history, cookies etc.... your parents will not think to use firefox they will be checking Internet Explorer. Good luck

Hi there

If you delete the contents of all the folders you mentioned, that should be everything. The cache is the temporary storage for internet explorer pages you have viewed, the "temporary internet files" folder.

Hope this helps.

Search for the "cache" on the computer and remove anything inside there as well. If you are on a network then there is a good possibility that the files you have viewed are on a network and there is no way for a "user" to go in and get rid of that info.

Yes it is still possible. Every keystroke is stored on some file in the hard drive that is impossible to fully overwrite or delete. A small portion of the document is always visible and to the trained person, accessible.

One of the ways to completely get rid of any files be it cookies, temp files, temp IE files or just some files in the recycle bin is to use Norton Cleansweep or AbsoluteShield File Shredder.

Yeah there is like an inprint in your computer that keeps everything you have ever done on it.
Even if you wipe everything there is a slight trace left.

Yes, check this file:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Configuration\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\index.dat

Just change "administrator" with your user's name.
