Check the fuzes would be the first step.

The next step would be to insure that the wipers are properly secured to the post. Remove the cap that covers the pivot point and make sure that the wiper set screws haven't worked loose.

The third step would be the check and see if there is a timing device/capacitor in the system, often found in variable speed wipers. This may have gone bad.

I'm guessing that you truck is a late80s to mid 90s Chevy. If so this is a common problem with these trucks. replace the circuit board on the wiper motor. about 45bucks if you do it yourself

Do you hear anything when you try to put them on? If you don't at all it could be a fuse. If you hear it at least trying to push, it could be the wiper motor or even a loose wire connection.

Wiper motor is gone! Change the wiper motor. If not that the fuses or switch!

first thing i would check is the fuse,then the switch,then if they are all ok,then i would go to the wiper motor.
