I appreciate answers from all sides of the spectrum but please don't insult me. This is not an attack on your country, its a question. Then again, questioning can be destructive.

I love it when people tell me to go to France...its hilarious.

When I read all the previous replies, it makes me really sad to see that there are so many misguided and gullible people around.
Did you all believe what Nixon told you? (Vietnam),Or Bush (Iraq)? No wonder you voted for him again. Aren't you tired of our American children coming back in plastic bags? All the decent presidents who fought for equality (Lincoln etc), have been murdered by the likes of you in the past. Wake up!
The question was if the US is the vilest plutocracy.
My answer is :
Plutocracy...Yes
The vilest.....No

No.

I've lived in a communist country and have seen the "true worst" of what a governement is capable of.

The US might have it's problems and we might be very divided as a nation right now, but I agree with the fourth answer, the US has done more to advance the world that any other nation on this earth.

I love my country, and I love the ideals upon which it was founded, and I believe that we still stand by these ideals, despite what you or others in the world community think. The US has had over 200 years of peaceful transfer of power from one president/congress to the next. We've rebuilt war torn nations. Our governement and private organizations give more humanitarian aid and relief than any other nation on earth. And we open our doors for "the tired, the poor, and the huddeled masses, yearning to be free".

I don't know where you are from, and you can think what you want about the US, but the great thing is, this is still the best place on earth.

Clearly not. However, as others have done, I will not relish in putting down your mindset. The reason we are not the vilest plutocracy is because we allow people like you to have free speech in decrying the United States for all that we do both good and bad. Some foreign countries there is no right to free press or free speech and that is what separates us from the vilest democracies.

I would say that you should study what is really going on in the world. I suppose if you live in a third world country with no real future the United States seems to be a big evil doer. However, if you look at the big picture the US has done more to advance the living standards of the worlds populations than any one. The only countries that seem to be not progressing are the ones who ignore the global concept of humanity and insist that their way of agrarian life is somehow better.
So my answer to you is: No

I think that countries that have a caste system are worse than the plutocracy of America. In countries like India, it is almost impossible to move up in society. You are born to your caste, and you will stay in your caste.

In America, everyone has the opportunity to make something of themselves. You can be born poor, and die very rich and powerful. What other plutocratic countries allow for that? So, yes, our country is run by the rich. But no one is stopping you from becoming rich yourself.

Why on earth would ANYONE think that? Look at all the humanitarian aide the US has provided for the world over the years. Look at how many Americans gave their lives so that Europe and others could be free. How much of any of that has Iran, Russia, Venezuela, N. Korea, China or any of the other dictatorships in the world done? None! I, for one, am getting sick and tired of all these third world countries who suck off the t!t of the US condemning us. Maybe, is we just cut off ALL foreign aide, they would starve to death and not have to worry about "how bad" the US is? GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well since every nation will fit the definition of plutocracy I'd have to say no.

Not at all. America is the land of freedom and opportunity - that's why millions of people want to come here. You don't see any mass exodus out of America, do you?

Is this your opinion, or are you just stirring the pot?

We're not on Pluto, so I don't see how we could be a plutocracy.
