I don't know about anyone else, but I can't get over the whole "I don't want to play for the Chargers" thing when he was drafted. I thought he'd be alright because he's Peyton's bro and everybody likes Peyton, but Eli and his daddy threw a fit before the draft. I'm sure Peyton was even kicking himself in the nuts for being related to them.

Apparently someone likes him but just doesn't want to admit it. Both my question and the first answer got a thumb-down. Maybe it was Eli???

Not a fan here!! I am with you on the "I don't want to play for the Chargers" thing when he was drafted. To me Philip Rivers is a much better QB than Eli and this is Rivers' first year of actually getting to play some, Eli's been starting since he was drafted. It just made me think that Eli thinks he is something really special and can get his way just because of his last name. I much rather watch Philip Rivers (I remember when he was at my favorite college team, NC State!). Besides I am a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan and don't care for the Giants at all!!!

I'm glad he didn't come to SD. If he did, we wouldn't have gotten the draft pick we used to get Merriman with in the trade. Plus Rivers is already a much better QB than he is.

We have to be fair here people, and also criticize John Elway for holding out because he didn't want to go to a "crappy team". However, even if Eli was as good as Elway, I don't think it would change, because it's not just the fact that he held out because the team was bad, but because he and Archie kinda played the Manning card --almost as if they were above everyone else and could make those kinds of decisions.

I'm not a big fan either, mainly due to his refusal to go to San Diego. I understand having a preference as to where you play, but as long as a draft exists, I think players should be obligated to follow the rules. I also didn't like the fact that he used different excuses about not playing there, when it was obvious that he (and his dad) wanted to play in a huge media market, where the exposure would be greater, and where possible endorsement deals would be more likely.

I'm also not all that impressed with Manning's play, as he's certainly nowhere close to the level of his brother. At this point, I'd rate him no better than the middle of the pack. He's not a guy with whom I'd feel confident in the playoffs, and I don't think he has the leadership skills I'd expect from his pedigree.

Eli is still a young QB and if he had a O line like Payton did then he might be able to show some more talent. Give him time in the next couple of years if they get a O line to protect him better then youll see that he will be one of the greats. Im not by any means a Bills fan nor a Colts, thats just my opinion. im for the Palmer Clan.

You all suck.
Go look at Peyton's first three seasons, and you'll see the same stats Eli has now.
The moron talking about how Rex beat his azz, ive got one owrd for you: MIAMI. Rex looked pretty shiity with 6 turnovers, wouldnt you say?
Eli can be frustrating, i will say that. He shows brilliance, then mediocrity. But he's smart and has a great arm.

AND im glad he's on the Giants. Thats where he wanted to play. So what's your problem? Get over it and grow up, man. Otherwise, you sound kinda jealous saying you "cant get over the whole" SD thing, and that you wish Eli was YOUR QB.

i wont give a thumbs down..but being a giants fan, i am a huge fan of eli...yes, he is shaky at times, but this is only his second full season starting and he has shown great improvement...as for the chargers thing, it benefited the giants, so i was for it, but i can see how people did not like how he went about it...and its not true that everyone likes peyton, just go ask patriot fans how much they like him...maybe respect him, but definitely dont like him...the main reason he didnt want to play for san diego is he did not feel their franchise was making the right steps to progress and become a contender...and choking last year and not making the playoffs didnt help in the hopes of proving him wrong...and peyton didnt get that much hype his second full season either...plus, eli has a lot more pressure on his plate playing in ny compared to playing in indy

I don't know. If I ever saw him I would give him a nice kick in the ***, just like Peyton did

i agree 100%. this is why i never play Eli in my fantasy teams, he doesnt even deserve to be on the giants. i realllly want the chargers to play them and have LT and Phillip Rivers walk all over them. payton is one of my favorite players, and he would never do what his dad did for his bro
