1. Katie and Ayisha are 6 years old. They are both playing with their toy kitchen. Peter, who is also 6 years old, asks the girls if he can join in. Katie and Ayisha refuse, saying "only mummies do cooking". How would social learning theorists explain the girls´ refusal to let Peter join in. (4 mark question so no essays pls)

2. Describe and discuss the psychoanalytic explanation of gender development. Refer to one other explanation in your answer. (10 mark question so a bit more information needed)

The girls probably have this additude of female roles and male roles in their house. As a whole, society places gender roles all around us, so its almost impossible for kids not to do some of this. When it does happen, the best was to counteract it is to stop and say, its ok for him to play too. Same if a girl wanted to play with trucks.

Apparently the little girls were raised to believe the male doesn't come into the kitchen to cook. The male should be at work. Being the money provider for the female at home taking care of the wife, and child(ren).

Is that is remotely close to what you are looking for?
