Civil Engineering certainly gonna have better prospects as economy of India is in upswing. As India is growsing at a good 8% GDP, it paves way to a lot of infrastructure activities which further fuel the income levels of people.
Remember, it is wise to join at entry level design engineer or so, in construction companies and slowly move up the lasser. I can bet that a average civil engineer is going to be better than average computer engineer in India owing to the fact that computer engineers are crowding out, which brings lot of wage pressure.
