Stockings have had a boost in popularity recently, though trends are leaning towards legware in general lately. Everybody has their preference between the two. The nice part about pantyhose is that they're cheap and quick to put on. Stockings are nice in that if you run one and buy an extra pair, you still have an extra for the next time one goes south. However, there's the extra hardware of a garter belt and the time it takes to hook them all together.
Personally, I prefer pantyhose because they keep my thighs from chafing.

Either, depending on the type of clothing that's being worn. Sexy sweet nothings mandate stockings!! Pantyhose are the norm, I would think, but many women choose to not wear hose at all!?! It's just a matter of preference.

Some women wear stockings. I am a pantyhose girl. I like having my entire lower body wrapped in the sensual nylon. But that's just me. Everyone has their own sense of comfort.

I think women still wear pantyhose, but most girls my age (I'm 17) seem to prefer stockings. Pantyhose are way too confining, and too thick and heavy. Stockings are sheerer, sexier and way more fun to wear. Plus they don't suck in your butt and make your crotch all sweaty when you go out dancing.
I work hard on my abs, and butt so they have nice shape and I don't want any pantyhose covering them up. the nylons are great on legs and thighs, but leave my butt alone.

I wear stockings and a garter belt nearly everyday to work and out at night. I never wear pantyhose except with hot pants, or very tight pants or very short skirt. Stockings are much more attractive and comfortable, and most men adore them.

Depends on how old you are. Older women tend to wear stockings as oppose to pantyhose. If you are wearing pants, then you wear stockings and not pantyhose. They still sell them just as equal as pantyhose.

I think that Pequen has it backwards. Older and overweight women definitely prefer pantyhose, but many of us young professionals who wear hosiery to the office everyday prefer hold ups or stockings either garter belt, especially id you are thin or athletic built.
No double panties or high waistbands to worry about, and no itchy butt from having it encased in full nylon jackets all day. Stockings are much more healthy, convenient (especially when going to the bathroom) and sexy than grannyhose. Plus they are much more sheer and sexy than grannyhose, and most guys love them.

I think women would rather wear pantyhose because they are cooler and lighter then stockings. Also stockings are kind of out of date and at certain stores you can not even find them anymore.

My wife says Stockings are for women and pantihose are for little girls.
My wife wears Vintage Hanes RHT stockings style 415 everyday
held up with a garterbelt,
She loves em and her legs look great!!!
She is 31 yrs old and buys them on ebay

They really do still wear stockings, if by stocking you mean thigh-highs. Although pantyhose are more popular.
