I got the answer: f(x) = 1

first of all, is this the right answer? Second, is this the correct way of writing the answer? Or can I just write "1" without the "f(x) ="

Thanks!

First, nope, your answer is wrong:

f(-3) = 16 - 5(-3) =

16 - (-15) =

16 + 15 = 31, therefore,

f(-3) = 31, and that's how you would write it

first, the answer is f(-3) = 31, as stated elsewhere. Second, it's best to leave the answer as an equation with the 'x' part replaced by an actual value. That way you know you're talking about an actual value of the equation and not a completely different equation.
