Yes. I lived on 700 acres and out in the hills I was infested with rattle snakes. Everywhere. One day I went to feed my horses and on top of two bales of hay, sunning himself was the largest, fattest most beautiful black with pearl cross hatching marks rattler.
He wasn't aggressive, so I emptied my feed barrel, moved him into it and drove him miles away. Never saw him again but never forgot how beautiful and calm he was.
So what do you mean the road to hell is paved with good intentions, you know what I'm talking about!

When I was around 12 and I lived with my dad in virginia, I was in the "back yard" which was really quite extensive and ended towards some woods. While out back towards the woods one day with my childhood friend shawn, we saw what must have been an over 5foot long black snake as thick as my forearm slithering across the ground and we jumped quickly up onto an old wooden "trailer" that was sometimes hauled behind the tractor to carry back stalks of tobacco to the barn. Ive never seen a snake that large before or since outside of a zoo or tv. Perhaps with mankind having taken over everything with parking lots and roads and homes 5 feet next to another home which is 5 feet away from yet another home etc etc that their is just not enough natural habit left for them to live and be stumbled across.

My life list is extensive, however, my happiest moments were...

1) Locating a sustaining population of the endangered mountain subspecies of the Red Legged Frog found living in a sea-level coastal meadow habitat.

2) Capturing a Coastal Horned Lizard found in an area the species was presumed to be extirpated from since 1955.

3) Observing and identifying a Two Striped Garter snake found over 700 miles from known population area.

4) (non herpetological) California Condor, Prairie Falcon, Mastiff Bat and Blue Whale added to my life-list on the same day.

5) Observation of San Francisco Garter Snake (a severely endangered species) in the wild.

6) Capture and release of a rare blue morph of the Santa Cruz Garter Snake (possible hybrid with the Red Sided Garter Snake).

7) Observation of a California Mountain Kingsnake about 150 miles outside of known range, in previously undocumented habitat.

...and lastly, although not technically a species found in the wild, observing parthenogenic reproduction in California Whiptails, a species of Cnemidophorus previously not known to have this capability!

So sure a ball python is a ideal snake for a 16 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous , do lots of study on housing , nutrients, etc and hit upon a reptile breeder who breeds ball pythons that were born contained in the country not imported in to promote they have a tendency to have lots of heath issues and likely ailments . also discover an section that still does minor vet artwork . when you're in Ontario Canada , a 2 reliable places are Northern Reptile (they are brilliant verify with Nathan the owner they promote ball pythons and so that they do minor vet artwork) and Reptile Wrangler would not promote them yet is attentive to a lot about them and that is the position you may purchase the rats , housing , bedding , lighting fixtures etc... both way do lots of study earlier buying , they stay for decades :) reliable good fortune
