I think its a good way of living life...and its certainly a more peaceful way. Unfortunately, some people will not compromise.

Compromise is not the best way to live your life. Compromise will cause you pain. That having been said: compromise can be good in some areas. For example: you and a friend are going to dinner.
Your friend wants Chinese you would like Italien.
compromise is the order of the day. Have Greek.

There are, however, things you never compromise, INTEGRITY is the major one. BELIEFS should never be compromised.

Anything else is fair game for compromise. It can be painful,
but it can be more painful to compromise all the time. You lose "self" that way.

life is basically a challenge and a celebration!life is not about compromising!i think a better word would be adjusting!but i firmly believe that no one should ever compromise themselves just make thing run smoothly!people who dare to defy achieve a lot of respect!compromising is perhaps the simplest and still the toughest solution to all problems.if indian or all the other colonized nations would have compromised then yes we could have avoided bloodshed but today all of us would be living as slaves to the britishers!freedom in a way is very synonimous to defiance!compromising for the small things in life which dont hamper ur success or your developement is fine but compromising each and every time just to make things smooth again is sheer wastage!try taking a risk, try rebellion!had it not been worth it believe me half the world would never have tried it!!

Hi, I am Rational Spirituality,

This may be a matter of personal choice.

People who compromise a lot, rarely lose too much, and their lives tend to run more smoothly.

People who follow their principles regardless, pay the price for that. But, that is their choice, and I am sure, it makes them happy.

I believe that all achievers in history hesitated to compromise, and genius and compromise are two incompatible concepts.

Much of the evil in this world, in my opinion, is due to too many people compromising in order to protect their material comforts, whilst looking the other way when they see wrongdoing and injustice.

Therefore, I also believe that conscience and compromise are often in conflict with each other, in those people who have any conscience at all.

In a way, constant compromise is a sign of selfishness and cowardry.

Hmmm..not that easy to answer as compromising has both pros and cons.
If you keep on compromising, people will think you to be a doormat and if it is the other way round, people wont consider you anything.
So what i think is that you should compromise only when you are going to be a beneficiary after doing that beacuse you will have two advantages - one you will be in the good books of the other person and second you are not going to be a looser!!!!!

Compromise is surely a solution under certain circumstances.
But it cannot be a way of life because people will take advantage of a person who always compromises.

Compromising isn't always the way to live. Because if there really is a problem that can effect you for life, and you compromise on it... it could ruin your entire life.

compromise does not produce the desired result always as there will be eventually one will gain and the othler will lose, so paving way for inimical relationship in the longer run. however deciding the events on its merits and resist our temptation for quenching the materilal thurst, conditioning the mind to remain calm and steady even in adverse conditions - rather a sense of sacrifice for good cause leading to the contentment in life may be considered as a better one. here the balance of mental strength becomes more important combined with large heartedness rather to say a sense of charitable disposition. only the brave and strong will be capable of remaining haumane and and have broadmindedness to forego i.e. even to sacrifice something in life which may prove to be an act of nobility provided it is done for a proper cause.

To me , friend, the word compromise conveys a different meaning.

I feel that we all think and estimate too much of ourselves. We really donot know how much we know. And what little we know we compare with people , knowing less than us and gloat over our knowledge.
But, contantly we come across people and tasks that are more demanding and cleverer. We feel we cannot reach that level and , internally we feel we desrve better. In that situation we feel we are "compromising" . But, truly, we are not. We are getting what we are really worth.

Because your neighbour has abigger car you want one. But you cannot afford. You feel you are compromising with a smaller car. Is that really so?
"Compromise " brings you down to reality.
