It ended for Japan when the United States dropped two atomic bombs on two of Japan's cities. It ended in Europe when Berlin, Germany was captured by the United States and Russia.

In Europe war ended the 9 of may 1945

Japan surrendered August 15 (after 2 atomic bombings)

Your question is nebulous. Do you want to know that the war ended in Japan because of the A bomb and in Germany because Russia and the US converged on them at the same time, they were out of fuel and supplies and HItler killed himself? Or do you want to know how devastated Japan and Europe were and how did they recover?

Japan didn't want to surrender , even after the US threatened to use the Atomic bomb .
So the US dropped the bomb on Hiroshima , they still didn't want to surrender , so they dropped one on Nagasaki too .
After the second bomb the Emperor of Japan surrendered , so that ended the war .

Well, Hitler killed his dog, wife, then himself.

And in Japan, the US vaporized and irradiated Japanese citizens.
