Actually.. I would have planted it about 3-4 weeks ago

September 15 -30 is the idea time.
You can plant now. but results won't bee too great.
Keep in mind, when you put down rye, you cant spray for weeds.
Be sure to apply Halts crab grass control in March.

You can plant it now and what does not germinate this year will germinate next spring as long as you do not apply crab grasss control to your yard.
