Does anyone think the name Nellie is cute for a twin girl? It's my late grandmothers name and I think its special, but does anyone think it's too old fashion?

I think it's a little too old fashioned.. The first thing I thought of when I saw that name was the nasty girl from Little House of the Prairie!!

It's a cute name, plus it has a special meaning for you. Not too old fashion, plus she won't hopefully have 5 other people with the same name in her classes when she gets to that age....like i always did with my common name growning up.

I don't know, you've got two celebs who are fairly popular now with the names Nelly - both variations on your proposed name - and you're naming your baby for a family member, which is noble.

Who cares what others think! At least you're not naming her something like "Shaniqua", or something like that!

I am all for names that are in rememberance or in honor of family members, just PLEASE don't name the other one Kellie! Does the other one get a special name like that one, it would be nice to choose another family name so that there are no hard feelings. It seems like good ammo to use against one another when they become competitive as teins so often do. I can hear your house in about 14-15 years. "Oh yeah, well Mom and Dad love me best b/c they named me after Grandma and you just have a lame name that ryhms with mine smelly kellie!" ;P J/K

I think it's a wonderful name and a great way to honor your Grandmother's memory.

The only thing that counts is if you and your husband like it.

I'd never throw a girl out of bed for having that name.
