i have a honda ek sedan with a b16 engine. mods are: type are head, integre type r cams, type r pistons, and i/h/e. question is, do i need a fuel management system? or can i just leave it alone?

yes i know CTR cams are better but the ITR cams came with the car. I already have adjustable cam gears but i forgot to mention them..

Well, your internals are Honda manufactured parts and from the sounds of it you just have a few bolt on's. So, I would say no...it is not necessary to add a fuel management system yet.

But if your mind is set on getting some fuel management mods a good suggestion would be to buy yourself a fuel rail, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, fuel pump and an Apexi V-AFC2. Those mods would be more and enough to take care of fuel delivery on your engine.

I currently run the same fuel setup on my 00 Si Coupe, all the fuel components are AEM except for the pump which is Walbro, and I mounted a B&M fuel pressure gauge on top of the filter.

Another thing I have done to my Si that I would suggest doing to your engine as well...invest in a pair of adustable cam gears to get those cams working how they should. Honda's are setup pretty conservative from the factory, so while your tuning the fuel on the dyno, you can adjust your ITR cams as well and make some more power. I saw very noticable power gains throughout the entire powerband after have my Comp Cams adjusted

And how come you didnt get the Civic Type R cams instead? You know they are better right? They have a little more aggressive profile grind on the intake side than the ITR intake cam.

Fuel management system is not necessary unless your B16 is running on forced induction (Turbocharging or Supercharging). More air = more fuel required. The stock fuel delivery system is good enough for your normal aspirated engine although you changed your engine internals.

Perhaps you may wish to get a Hondata ECU & fine tune your fuel / air mixture, ignition timing, VTEC activation point & all the other necessary parameters in your B16.

naw u dont need it. go get a fuel pressure regulator and a computer to modd ur air fuel ratio..
