With the Sens down only 1 goal, he lets in a shot from the top of the circle, just inside the blue line.

Why couldn't the Sens just have faith in Emery instead of bringing up an inexperienced goaltender who lets in weak goals at key times?

I wouldnt jump to any conclusion about gerber just yet, as he did help the canes win most of their games last seaon. the sens really need to work on their goaltending, which has always been one of their downfalls, i was dissapointed that lalime didnt work out, as i am a fan of lalime. I think it all biols down to chemistry and finding the right fit. The flames were in a similar situation when they brought in Kipper, turek had turned out to be a bust and had gone down with an injury, Mclennan a porven, vetewran back up goaltender, could not be the number one guy, kipper was brought in to back up turek when he returned, however this was the seasn which kipper broke the GAA record and he was nominated for the viezna and they went to stanley cup final, Its all about finding the right fit,and i hope the sens do it soon, Go SENS GO!!

Hello!? Why would the Sens dump Hasek? Stupidest move ever.
Emery was useless in the playoffs. He's no Cam Ward.

Gerber is not the new Lalime because as much as he was a "failure," the guy at least played unreal in '02 with a .946 save pct in the playoffs. Was it his fault the nemesis Make Beliefs beat the Sens in 7 in rd. 2? He was also damned solid in '03 when Ott went to Game 7 vs. NJ in rd. 3. Was it his fault Ott could not score?

The Sens are beyond figuring out this year. I can't imagine what is going on there but the rumors are really flying.

Hasek was a train wreck for them, Gerber isn't performing...I would put Emery in I think he's a capable--albeit not spectacular goalie. On any given night he may surprise you.

The Sens play Buffalo next---ought to be interesting.

I think missing Redden is not helping them either.

Chara? Ummm, he plays for Boston so I don't think he's the problem unless you mean that they shouldn't have given him up.

i feel the same way as a long time sens fan. gerber is a capable goalie but now that he has a nice contract he don't have work as hard. lalime was bad real bad. emery should have been given the puck and told to stop it. to answer your question YES

I think Gerber likely has a better rep then Lalime from his performance in the play-offs a few years back.....Not sure Lalime had ever "proved" himself to that level. If Gerber can find that level of play for the Sens, you'll be in good shape.

Yes. He is like Cloutier to the Sens. Why hasn't Emery started in six games.

because emery is slightly injured now, sprained wrist.
gerber can not be the next lalime as he was never as good as lalime to start with.
ottawa might want to look at getting a new goalie coach as both are pretty good goalies just lacking that finished polish.

Now, you see why the Carolina Hurricanes got rid of him.

No Chara is the real problem....

RE:lorinhl
Correct, not having Chara as an anchor on their blueline is a huge problem.

"No, Chara is the real problem. "
That would have been an incorrect statement....note the comma....

He's not good enough to get them the cup. Coloreds are quicker. Put him in net.
